Exotic Animal Services

We strive to provide excellent care for non-traditional pets as well as dogs and cats. We offer care for nearly all species including birds, reptiles and amphibians, small mammals, fish, and zoo animals. Please click on the categories below to learn about exotic animal services.

Birds
Routine Preventative Care-we recommend an annual physical exam and fecal evaluation. During the examination a veterinarian will determine nutritional status of your pet, listen to the heart, lungs, and airsacs, palpate the coelomic cavity (birds do not have a diaphragm so the body cavity is called the coelomic cavity), examine the eyes, ears, oral cavity, feather quality/integument (skin), uropygial/preen gland, and vent. Using exam findings the veterinarian will discuss ways to maintain or improve your bird's health. Any questions regarding husbandry, diet, or behavior will also be addressed at this time. More...
Reptiles and Amphibians

During the examination a veterinarian will determine nutritional status of your pet, listen to the heart and lungs, palpate the coelomic cavity (herps do not have a diaphragm so the body cavity is called the coelomic cavity), examine the eyes, ears, oral cavity, integument, and vent. Using exam findings the veterinarian will discuss ways to maintain or improve your pet's health.
